Canvases:
To keep your framed canvas print looking its best, follow these care instructions:
Avoid direct sunlight: Prolonged exposure can cause fading over time.
Regular dusting: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently remove dust from both the canvas and frame.
Avoid water and cleaning solutions: These can damage the canvas surface.
Handle with care: When moving or adjusting your framed canvas, be gentle to prevent damage.
Remember, these instructions are specifically for framed canvas prints. For other types of canvases, it’s best to consult the specific care instructions provided with the product.
Our canvases, metal prints, and posters are made with standard materials that don’t pose an unusual fire risk. Our canvas prints use a blend of cotton (30-50%) and polyester (50-70%), which is a common fabric composition. The frames for our canvas prints are made from FSC-certified wood, typically poplar or pine.
For our metal framed posters, we use durable aluminum frames with shatterproof plexiglass to protect the print. The posters themselves are printed on paper of various types, including semi-glossy and matte finishes.
While no material is completely fireproof, these materials are standard in the printing and framing industry and don’t present any extraordinary fire hazards when used and displayed normally.
We don’t recommend exposing our products to direct sunlight for extended periods as this can cause fading over time.
For specific products:
• Canvas prints should be kept away from direct sunlight and regularly dusted with a soft, dry cloth.
• Metal prints/aluminum prints can have UV-resistant coating that offers some protection, but intense sunlight can still impact their longevity.
• Posters and framed posters have protective features against fading from light, but prolonged exposure should still be avoided.
• Giclée prints are specifically intended for indoor use only and may degrade when exposed to sunlight.
For best results, display your prints in areas with indirect lighting to preserve their vibrant colors and quality.
We don’t recommend displaying canvas prints directly over fireplaces due to potential heat exposure. Our canvases are made from a cotton-polyester blend (300-350gsm, 350-400 microns) stretched over FSC-certified wood frames. While these materials don’t pose an unusual fire risk, prolonged exposure to heat can affect the print quality and longevity.
For the best preservation of your canvas print, it’s advisable to display it in areas with indirect lighting and away from heat sources. This will help maintain the vibrant colors and overall quality of your artwork for a longer time.
We don’t recommend displaying posters directly above fireplaces due to heat exposure risks. Our posters feature materials that could be affected by prolonged heat:
• Wooden frames made of pine, oak or ash
• Paper (170-250 gsm) with various finishes
• Plexiglass protection
While the plexiglass offers some protection, consistent heat can potentially:
For best preservation, display your framed poster in an area with stable temperature and indirect lighting. This will help maintain the vibrant colors and overall quality of your artwork for much longer.
Plexiglass & Any type of Frames
We recommend regular dusting of your framed prints (which include Plexiglass) with a soft, dry cloth to prevent dust buildup. Avoid using water or cleaning solutions on the canvas or frame. It’s also important to avoid exposing your framed prints to direct sunlight for extended periods to prevent fading.
Our frames feature clear Plexiglass for protection. When you receive your frame, you’ll notice a protective film on the Plexiglass which can be easily peeled off.
To clean the metal or any other type of frame in connection with your prints, we recommend using a soft, dry cloth to gently remove dust and fingerprints. This method is similar to how we suggest caring for framed canvas prints. For more stubborn dirt or grime, you can slightly dampen the cloth with a small amount of water, but avoid using any cleaning solutions as they may damage the frame or print. Be careful not to let any moisture come into contact with the print itself. After cleaning, make sure to dry the frame thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth to prevent any potential damage from moisture.
